The protocols are counterproductive to the Armenian Cause. Why should we bow down to protocols that favor Turkey 100%. In agreeing to these protocols, the Sargsyan administration is automatically agreeing to the current borders and recognizing it unconditionally. We will never be able to reclaim our lands and resolve the genocide issue. We need an unconditional reversal of the current Armenian politics in Yerevan.
Just wondering and really surprizing!? After so many crimes ,atrocities commited by Turkey against the Armenian people,
the Sargsyan administration simply bows to the turkish demands
and accepts what is totally and absolutely unacceptable.
The government of Armenia simply ignores and forgets all the sufferings of Armenian people during the Genocide.It’s impossible to forget. Turkey occupied our homeland, the lands which we had been living there for thousands of years. How the Sargsyan administration justifies his actions?
What the armenian people think ? , those who live in Turkey and Armenia, and Russia, and Georgia?
Remember that Armenia is a Plutocracy (“fusion of money and government.”)
This goverment has killed their own people the last elections…
The pure capitalism is going to destroy the little Armenia.
These Protocols leave Armenia with nothing. The opening of the border will have short-term success, but only in certain, few markets, and only for a short period of time. We cannot allow our government to negotiate our history and our rights in any context.

Have you all read ARA PAPIAN’s expressed legal opinion? There
must be something to it because it is being picked up. I am not
qualified to to evaluate it. But it seems genuine and legally
defensible. Once again my point is: The country bumpkins running
Armenia are reading and signing Protocols without legal
representation. It takes international legal experts of renoun
to evaluate such treaties, and come with rebuttals to
rebuttals. Who is Ara Papian? is he a lawyer? For that matter,
who are the lawyers that evaluated these protocols. I asssume
that the legislature there has a legal commitee. That’s OK, the
legislature will just have to reject the present protocols and
resubmitt a new revised Armenian version. We are afraid of a rash
vote.
Sarkissian is replacing the support of the Diaspora by the support of Turkey. If Diaspora was investing in Armenia, now he says Turkey will etc. etc.
He is visitingthe Diaspora to divide it, so that the sum of the Diaspora is 0, and as he can force his decision in Armenia based on march 1,2 2008, he has it all planned.
Mr. President, The steps you have taken to normalize relations with Turkey – through signing the Protocol, is unacceptable to the generation who are the offsprings of survivors of the GENOCIDE.
Turkey and the Turkish people must learn there history re: what happened in 1915-1923 and beyond. This period has completely been erased from their history books. Please ask any Turk about “what happened during that period” they do not know the truth.

The protocol written in Turkish – Azeri – USA – Israel favor, but not in Armenian interest for sure.
The normalization between Turkey and Armenia should be:
1.Turkey must acknowledge genocide, ask for forgiveness, pay retribution and return our land;
2.Turkey should explain to Azeris that Karabakh is a historical Armenian land, recognize it and support the re-unification of Armenia with Karabakh;
3.Turkey must explained Azeris that Nahachevan is a historical Armenian land and should return to Armenia;
4.Armenia should think about opening its border gradually, starting for commercial purpose only.

Maybe it is time we Diasporans recognize that Armenia’s regime is one of the most corrupt and criminal regimes in the world.
Maybe we should open our eyes and see that all they want is our money as tourists and donors
Maybe what we should realize is that Armenia’s regime has no respect for anything or anyone except a small bunch of gangsters who have spoiled the country and are selling it piece by piece.
All strategic infrastructure belong to Russia, the people have been exported en masse (there are only 2.2 Mio Armenians left in Armenia and the outflow is accelerating (see numbers on civilitas web site), and that the country lies in ruins and is in debt up to its neck, it is time to cash in on the Genocide and Karabagh with Turkey.

I was watching the president speech via US-ARMENIA in New York.
He stated that can you imagine during Russian-Georgian war when Armenia was cut off from supplies (especially) gasolin , for 5 days, and during that period if there was a combat encounter at Karabagh ,what would be happened to us. Mr. president, I was at the same time in Armenia and also in Karabagh , first of all if there will be any conflict in Karabagh ,Turkey will close its border again ,so as you know there is no hope from them . Second when i was driving from Goris to Yerevan on my way back from Karabagh ,I saw chain of tankers carring Diesel and Gasolin from Iran ,with Iranian license plates.and as I asked one of the drivers in farsi ,he responded that these are for military use not for public.How stupid do you think we are, Turkey having the borders opened during any conflict in Armenia.
I think you have forgotten ,why their borders were closed in first place.I Know you will sign this protocol no matter what but remember one day you have to answer to Armenian people ,your children will carry your name as a Traitor for rest of their life ,and as you know you are playing with our history,our honor and our life.

Never been a nationalist and absolutely hate all the slogans and flag waving associated with it, by any nation. However these protocols sound, smell and look like a sell-out. If pragmatism and economic necessity dictates the signing of these protocols then these protocols must be put on a referendum to Armenian people. This is a century old dispute that goes back many generations. The current administration in Armenia has no moral right to sign these protocols without taking clear instructions from Armenian people.

Bravo to your protesting. I myself went to the rally and I’m so disappointed that Serj Sarkisian still signed it. I cant believe it. For over 94 years we’ve been trying to reconstruct Armenia and not once has Turkey apologized. Not just that, but they didnt even admit to the genocide either! I believe this is a way for Turkey to annihilate the Armenian race slowly and i have no respect for Serj Sarkisian, for he is a traitor and he has to be stopped. Please hear me, this means a lot to me and all us Armenians, please help us throw him out of office. As Greek-Cypriot the only thing I have to add is that by these action Turkey now has the backup needed not only to refuse the genoside (which by the way was recorded by a lot of foreign embassies of that era, US included) but also to continue refusing other massacres such as the ones against the Greek population in Turkey.
