Turkey-Armenia Protocols:

THREATENING THE INDEPENDENCE OF NAGORNO-KARABAKH

“Reconfirming their commitment, in their bilateral and international relations, to respect and ensure respect for the principles equality, sovereignty, non intervention in internal affairs of other states, territorial integrity and inviolability of frontiers,”

Accepting such a provision will allow Turkey to argue that Armenia can no longer take part in efforts to resolve the Nagorno Karabagh conflict because it constitutes the “internal affairs” of Azerbaijan. In the event of renewed Azerbaijani aggression, this provision could also be cited as prohibiting Armenia’s material defense of Nagorno Karabagh. Concerns over the interpretation of this provision are compounded by the complete absence of any language in these protocols affirming the right to self-determination.

FORFEITING LEGAL CLAIMS TO ARMENIAN LANDS

“Confirming the mutual recognition of the existing border between the two countries as defined by relevant treaties of international law”

Agreeing to this provision would mean an official recognition of the Treaty of Kars, which was signed under the duress of the Soviet Union in 1921. This treaty relinquished Armenia’s claims to Western Armenia, Nakhichevan and Nagorno Karabagh.

Adopting such an agreement would amount to the Republic of Armenia officially accepting the criminal dispossession of the Armenian people at the hands of Turkey during the Armenian Genocide and forfeiting all legal claims to our historic homeland.

DENYING THE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE

“Implement a dialogue on the historical dimension with the aim to restore mutual confidence between the two nations, including an impartial and scientific examination of the historical records and archives to define existing problems and formulate recommendations;”

In recent years, the Turkish government has sought to further its campaign of denial by calling for a “historic commission” to study what happened to Armenians during World War I. This proposal has been roundly condemned by leading international genocide scholars as a ploy to cast doubt on the veracity of the Armenian Genocide.

By signing on to these protocols, the Armenian government will become an accomplice in Turkey’s ongoing campaign to deny the overwhelming scholarly consensus on the Armenian Genocide.

    I. Truly truly believe out of God’s own mouth he saying this. Armenia in Jesus Name do not sign any of these ore conditions do not even consider a single drop their words becuase it’s all a ploy by the world’s evil powers to destroy the benificial equal of ALL human rights. Would they have liked it if their people where massacred to almost half then in less than 90 years (1922)! Ended, to allow the same nation to bring us to make detremental consequenes, consequences which will make it harder to turn everything back around For ethe very good your people are fighting for recognition of the very crimes commuted by the same nations off their own toung, ‘turkey and Azerbaijan’. Which have to recognize the genocides they committed against the lands of Armenia and assyria and both along with their national counter parts **aq and **an for all their crimes against humanity which do continue untill TODAY.

    Dear Armenians,

Ir is obvious that this agreement is a result of many compromises, but mainly by Armenia, because this will put end of all Diaspora hopes to return it’s property and recognition of Genocide. This serve mainly the Armenian republic’s so called “businessman” that will raise their income making trade with Turkey…In distinction with Iran, where this country is forced to search trade contacts with Armenia due it’s blockade situation, Turkey is a very strong and powerful industrial country and Armenia will become simply a new OPEN MARKET…

Well, I’m not living in Armenia, but could say what are doing Turkish Embassy in Bulgaria and what books are issued where all our doubts are clearly explained and there is written that ARMENIA NEVER HAD STATE…and ARTSAH is AZERBAIJAN and how there ironically Genocide is explained as done not by Turkey to it’s Armenian citizens, but opposite – Armenians are announced as terrorists!
For everyone who wanted I can scan and send this book…!

Well, of course Armenia need to had a free access, but not on a price of our ancestors blood and memory!

  3. Hilda Baghoomian says:

Armenia should never agree to this so called Protocols, agreeing to this is simply criminal act and a slap on Armenians all over the world, that is clearly against the interest of our homeland and it is nothing but benefiting the pockets of few Armenian merchants/businessman who are only interested in growing there bank accounts.
Armenian republic has survived the blocked so far it can do it as long as it is necessary to achieve the homeland and the Armenian republics legal and national interest and historical right, the Turks can not do a thing to force this on us, beyond the blockade, and that we have survived , they have to negotiate there way in to this, there is no such thing as mutual confidence between us and the Turks, are you kidding me? what confidence and trust, they killed my people and took our land and now they are denying the documented world history.
They see that Armenians are becoming stronger on the world stage in comparison to the past, I say give my Armenian brothers and sisters some more time and we will claim our land, we are the oldest Christians and an ancient civilization.
We are strong / smart resourceful and resilient people.
    LONG LIVE STRONG ARMENIA………

  4. I think the treaty should go to a referendum in Hyastan. Perhaps Armenians will decide to bend temporarily in hopes that new generations of Turks will be more honest and humane if we now establish trade and travel links. Treaties and protocols don’t last forever. They can be renegotiated or repealed.
As far as an historical commission, I think that is a great idea. The more people study and discuss, the more likely the truth will come out. Be patient. If some Turks think they can fool the world, let them try, but they will fail.
