It’s Day 2 of the hunger strike, and surprisingly, hunger hasn’t crept up on me yet.
At first, I was confused at the prospect of not being hungry after going without food for 38 hours, but after some thought came to a surprising conclusion. The reason that I, and many of my fellow strikers don’t feel hungry is because we are mentally prepared to stay strong.
This seems strange, especially to me, because by this time in the day, I would have had a coupe meals in my already. My fellow strikers and I realize what we are fighting for. We understand the gravity of the situation, and believe that our cause is just.
We look around, see people going by the street eating a sandwich, smell the food from down the road coming from the local Conrad’s, and amazingly, we don’t feel tempted. For us, food isn’t as important as getting our message across to the current administration of Armenia.
I know that the hunger pangs will come eventually, and I know that we will have moments that will try our will; but I also know that we will get through this unscathed. We are resolute. We are, and always will be the future of Armenia, and hopefully our message will not fall on deaf ears.
I finally understand the concept of mind over matter, and with that said, I believe that no matter what obstacles are beset on us, we will find a way to plow onwards whilst keeping our dignity, our respect, and out fatherland.

It really saddens me to think that this person (who’s not even worth calling a “president”) can just come by and forget the battles we as a nation have been fighting for a lifetime, and put his signature on a piece of paper and sign over all our rights as Armenians.. How dare you not listen to the voice of the people. It’s sad how we can come so close to the end of our battle, to only be taken away by you, for what?!?! What gives you the right to take away our rights as Armenians?!?! How do you sleep at night knowing you’re hated by your own nation, and to know all those people killed for nothing families broken and lost in history all to have peace? Peace for what, what’s peace to us when we’re being denied HISTORY. What will our children of future generations think, to know that we were defeated twice without even a voice to be heard, and to be wiped off of history a second time. All our efforts on April 24 gone to e waste if this is signed, and there will not be a chance for us to turn around and save our country. It’s really sad to know how Turkey gets the satisfaction twice, first by the denial of the Genocide, and now to only be laughed at because we can’t even come to terms with our own “president.” Thanks for nothing worthless coward!!!!
WOW!!!Hang in there Shahan..We are so proud of you all for even taking on a challenge like this. U inspire us and put to shame others that aren’t even paying attention to this issue.
True Armenians..Keep the spirit!!!
God Bless you all

To everyone of you 34! Your strength and determination is impressive yet not surprising from AYF members. The rest of Armenian youth that is wasting away in the coffee shops and hooka bars has much to learn from you all…
