I'd like to come to Armenia some day. Sites like this make me feel like I would not be safe. You guys seriously need to take chill out and come to Turkey sometime. If the border opens, do take the opportunity--we're nicer than you think :)We don't grow up with "fabricated movies of Armenians exterminating the Turks." We don't mean you any harm. We are not even competing with each other for resources. We are, however, tired of the racist Turk bashing that some members of your community continue to engage in very loudly. It's clear that we will not resolve our historical differences (which you and I had nothing to do with creating) overnight, but you would be surprised how many people here genuinely want a return to neighborly relations that we have had throughout centuries. If you could take a step back and read the patronizing, racist tone of this poem (and a lot of Armenian "activist" writing), you'd see that it is counterproductive to your goals. This very loud, anti-Turkish racism (which I'm sure some misguidedly call 'patriotism') inhibits any dialogue or historical inquiry we might want to have here in Turkey. The protocols you boycott are viewed very suspiciously here as "giving Armenia everything it wants and getting nothing back in return." Both viewpoints are silly. If you are a true Armenian patriot, I would implore you to use your God-given talent for poetry to create peace between our people so that our children may live in peace. The "Superior Law" to which you refer also says "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God."

Alicia,

I am a Turk.
