Thousands gathered at Yerevan’s Charles Aznavour Square Friday afternoon to continue their protest against the Turkey-Armenia protocols signed last Saturday. The document, scheduled for ratification by the Armenian Parliament in the coming weeks, will establish normal relations between Armenia and Turkey at the cost of Armenia signing an agreement that calls into question the Armenian Genocide, undermines the security of Armenia, and threatens the right to self-determination for the people of Karabagh.

The Armenian Revolutionary Federation said on Wednesday that it will defy a government ban and again rally supporters in Yerevan this week in protest against the controversial Turkish-Armenian agreements penned in Switzerland on October 10 and scheduled to be ratified by the Armenian Parliament.

Yerkir Media reported Friday morning that over 60,000 people in Yerevan participated in a procession to the Armenian Genocide Memorial Dzidzernagapert, urging Armenian President Serge Sarkisian not to sign the Turkey-Armenia Protocols. The rally, organized by the ARF, is the culmination of weeks of protests in Yerevan and in Diasporan communities around the world–sending a unified “Stop the Protocols” message to Armenia’s leaders.
