The hunger strikers are approaching the 72nd hour of their strike. Spirits are high and the strikers are standing strong, but they need the support of the community. Tonight at 7pm, the hunger strike will pay homage to those who fought and laid their lives down for the liberation of Artsakh.

In the aftermath of President Serzh Sargsyan’s visit to Los Angeles, over a dozen Armenian youth from the “Stop the Protocols” Campaign have decided to initiate a hunger strike in front of the Armenian Consulate of Los Angeles.

Armenians in New York will demonstrate against Serzh Sarkisian’s visit to the city on October 3rd. from 4-7pm at the New York Palace Hotel (455 Madison Ave. New York).

On Tuesday, October 6, the Armenian community of Lebanon will rally at the Boorj Hamood City Hall Park at 4pm and march to the Habtoor Hotel where they will demonstrate against Armenian President Serzh Sarkisian, who will arrive in Lebanon early Tuesday as part of his tour of the Armenian Diaspora.

A townhall discussion on the Turkey-Armenian protocols is scheduled in Marseille, France on October 1 at the Armenian Church of Beaumont (8, Impasse des Monts 13012 Mareille, France). The event is being organized by the Marseille chapters for the Armenian Revolutionary Federation, the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party, and the Social Democrat Hnchakian Party.

Toronto-based youth organizations are set to hold a demonstration against the Turkey-Armenia protocols on Friday, October 2nd at 8pm. The rally will be held at the Armenian Community Center in Toronto. (45 Hallcrown Place Willowdale, Ontario M2J 4Y4 Canada).

Canada’s Armenian youth and students are set to rally against the Armenia-Turkey protocols on Wednesday September 30th, 2009 at 8:30pm in Pasdermajian Hall at Sourp Hagop School (3400 Nadon, Montreal.

The public is urged to take part in a rally on Sept. 27 in Glendale to protest the protocols on the establishment and development of Armenia-Turkey relations. The rally will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. at Pelanconi Park (on the corner of Glenoaks Blvd. and Grandview Street).

The “Stop the Protocols” Campaign, a broad-based coalition of Armenian youth groups and organizations across the United States, will be holding its first direct action against the Turkey-Armenia protocols at the Swiss Consulate in Los Angeles on Friday September 18 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. (11766 Wilshire Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90025)
